The governor of Adamawa state, Umaru Fintiri highlights the humanitarian crisis in the state explaining that children under the ages of five are at risk of malnutrition

According to the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, 4.6 million people in the region face severe hunger, while 630,000 children under five are at risk of acute malnutrition.

Supported by agencies like UNICEF, WFP, and FAO, the plan includes food aid, nutrition, water, health, and early recovery measures.

UN humanitarian coordinator Mohamed Fall raised concerns about shrinking aid due to major funding cuts, warning that hard-won progress in tackling malnutrition is at risk.

Governor Yilwatda added that the federal government will lead from the front, leveraging the national social register and digital tools to ensure transparent and effective aid delivery.

He also called on partners to align with local and national systems to ensure results are impactful and traceable.
