The Oyo State Governor, Mr. Seyi Makinde, has constituted a committee to review workers’ salaries following the removal of fuel subsidy.
The committee was constituted during a meeting with labour leaders in the state and has eight weeks to submit its report.
Speaking at the meeting, the governor says his administration is prepared for the review and the state can come up with necessary programmes to alleviate the impact.
Mr. Kayode Martins, the state Chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress, who spoke on behalf of other affiliated unions, says the minimum wage review is overdue.
He called on the government to work towards its quick realisation.
