Suspected gunmen have killed at least 13 people in a fresh attack on Ngbra Zongo community in Kwall District of Bassa Local Government Area of Plateau State. The attack happened around midnight on Friday and left several others injured.
A resident, Philip Alanga, said the attackers stormed the community shooting indiscriminately before attacking residents with machetes and other weapons. He said the assailants moved from house to house, forcing many residents to flee into nearby bushes for safety.
The Secretary General of the Irigwe Development Association, Danjuma Auta, confirmed the incident and described the attack as tragic and barbaric. He called on security agencies to improve surveillance and protect vulnerable communities in Plateau State.

The latest attack comes days after gunmen killed 5 people and injured 3 others in Nding Susut community in Barkin Ladi Local Government Area. Police authorities confirmed that Tuesday’s attack occurred when gunmen opened fire on residents sitting outside their homes.
