The National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, says the sit-at-home order enforced in the South-East by the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, is fast losing its hold.
Speaking at the All Progressives Congress National Summit in Abuja, Ribadu reported that security conditions in the region have improved significantly under President Bola Tinubu’s administration. He noted that key figures of IPOB and its armed wing, the Eastern Security Network, have been captured or neutralised, severely weakening the separatist campaign.

He told the summit that attacks on security personnel have dropped, and social and economic activities are gradually returning to normal. According to him, over 50 police stations and outposts have been rebuilt in the region.
Ribadu added that the once-compulsory Monday lockdowns are now largely ignored, as residents begin to feel safer and more confident in security efforts.
