Three men abducted along Osara Road in Kogi State have been rescued unhurt following a coordinated operation by the Nigeria Police, Nigerian Army, and Fulani vigilantes in Ankomi Forest.
Police say the victims—identified as Musa Abdullahi of Plateau State, Abdulazeez Adamu of Kogi State, and Yusuf Ibrahim of Kaduna State—were seized on 15 May while travelling in separate vehicles to Jos from Edo State.

According to the Kogi Police Command, the rescue followed a firefight during which the kidnappers, outgunned, fled with injuries, abandoning their captives.
The victims were reportedly taken deep into the forest, but the joint task force tracked and engaged the gang before recovering them safely.
Commissioner of Police Miller Dantawaye praised the security team’s professionalism and reiterated the Command’s commitment to combating banditry.
Authorities have asked the public to report anyone seeking treatment for gunshot wounds to the nearest security post.
