Nollywood actress Judy Austin has refuted allegations made by her former husband Emmanuel Obasi regarding the timeline of her relationship with her current partner, Yul Edochie, and threatened legal action against Obasi, whom she has labelled a deadbeat father.
She made the threat via an Instagram video where she responded to his recent appearance on the Honest Bunch podcast. The actress said her marriage to Obasi ended in 2012, a year earlier than he had previously claimed in a separate video, and that she did not meet Yul until 2016, three years after their divorce was finalised, on the set of a movie, noting that up until that time she had no interest even in acting.
Austin accused Obasi of attempting to tarnish her reputation and drag Edochie into a personal dispute, disclosing her intention to pursue legal action and stating that he must defend his allegations beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law, adding that any smart person who listened to the podcast will see how he contradicts himself.
The actress denied claims that she has restricted his access to their children, saying her children spent five years living with her parents before she relocated them to Enugu in 2018. She defended Edochie against criticism, praising him for stepping in as a father figure to her children by providing financial support, paying school fees, and putting a roof over their heads.
