The actress Rita Edochie has defended Emmanuel Obasi following criticism over his emotional appearance during a recent podcast interview in which he broke down in tears.
In a post on Instagram on Wednesday, Edochie said Obasi should not be judged for crying, adding that his reaction was linked to what she described as long-standing intimidation and emotional distress.
Her comments come after a public dispute between Obasi and his ex-wife, Judy Austin, following claims made by Obasi on the Honest Bunch podcast about their past relationship and alleged infidelity. Austin has rejected the claims, describing them as false and contradictory.
Edochie said emotional expression does not indicate weakness, insisting that Obasi’s reaction reflected deep personal pain and long-standing marital issues, including disputes over access to his children.
