Prince Isah Ado-Bayero, the son of the Emir of Kano, His Royal Highness, Aminu Ado-Bayero, joined the Oba of Benin, Oba Ewuare II, in a crossover night church service into 1st January 2024.
The Bini monarch observed the Gregorian Calendar year at the Holy Aruosa Cathedral in Benin City where he earlier celebrated the traditional Igue festival thanksgiving service on Sunday, December 31, 2023.

It is the first time in history an Oba of Benin would join the church Crossover service. According to the monarch’s Chief Press Secretary, Osaigbovo Iguobaro, the presence of Prince Isah Ado-Bayero amazed the worshippers.
The service, which was conducted in Edo language, was instituted by Oba Ewuare II who observes the tradition at the end of the annual Igue festival in line with the Benin Calendar.
