The Lagos State Government has announced the dates and guidelines for the 2026 Public Service Examinations, with the exercise scheduled to hold from Tuesday, May 12 to Tuesday, May 19, 2026. The government disclosed this in a statement shared on its official social media page on Thursday, stating that the examinations would take place at the Lagos State Public Service Staff Development Centre in Magodo, Lagos.
According to the statement issued by the Lagos State Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education through the Lagos State Examinations Board, the official schedule and guidelines for the Year 2026 Public Service Examinations had been approved following an earlier circular issued by the Head of Service. The ministry said the examinations would include the compulsory examination for all cadres in the state public service, the combined confirmation and promotion examination for clerical officers and clerical assistants, as well as the external secretarial examination.
The government added that candidates were expected to begin printing their examination slips from Tuesday, May 5, through the Lagos State Examinations Board portal using their registration login details. The statement said the examination slip will contain essential details, including the candidate’s scheduled date and time. The government also directed candidates to present valid means of identification at the examination venue, listing staff identity cards, National Identification Number slips, and Lagos State Residents Registration Agency cards as acceptable forms of identification.

According to the statement, candidates must bring a printed copy of their examination slip to the venue and are strongly advised to adhere strictly to the date and time indicated on their slips. The ministry further stated that the examinations would be conducted using the computer-based test format, advising candidates to familiarise themselves with basic computer operations ahead of the examination.
