Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu says the state is fully prepared to host the 2026 CAF Awards after a Confederation of African Football delegation inspected the Wole Soyinka Centre for Culture and Creative Arts, the designated venue for the ceremony.
Sanwo-Olu said Lagos State is committed to delivering a successful event that reflects Nigeria’s passion for football and ability to host major international competitions.
The inspection team included officials from CAF, the Nigeria Football Federation and the Lagos State Sports Commission.
Lagos was recently confirmed as the host city for African football’s flagship awards ceremony, which honours the continent’s top players, coaches and teams. The state will also host the 48th CAF General Assembly, expected to take place in October.
