The Lagos State Government has unveiled new cybersecurity guidelines aimed at strengthening digital safety for businesses, public institutions and residents. The framework is designed to improve protection against rising cyber threats across the state.
In a statement, Commissioner for Information and Strategy Gbenga Omotoso said the initiative is part of efforts to position Lagos as a secure and globally competitive digital hub. He noted that the guidelines align with national laws, including the Cybercrime Act and the Nigeria Data Protection Act.
The document outlines practical steps such as identifying system vulnerabilities, applying security controls, training staff and reporting incidents. It also targets small, medium and large organisations, as well as government agencies.
