A Nigerian musician, Onomen Uduebor, has been sentenced to three years and four months in a US federal prison for his role in a tax fraud scheme involving stolen employee data.
Uduebor, also known as Onomen Onohi, was extradited from the UK in March 2025 and pleaded guilty in April to wire fraud and identity theft.

Prosecutors said the 39-year-old was part of a group that tricked HR departments into releasing W-2 tax information, filing over 300 fake tax returns and claiming more than $1 million in refunds.
Though most were intercepted, about $140,000 was paid out, with Uduebor admitting to personally pocketing $10,000.
He was also ordered to repay $122,720 and will be deported after serving his sentence.
