Political economist Professor Pat Utomi says the cost of governing Nigeria is too high and would be drastically reduced if he were president. He made the remarks in a TV interview monitored by Radio Now’s Newsdesk.
Professor Utomi said it makes no sense to run government at the expense of citizens who are facing widespread economic hardship. He argued that public resources should be better managed to ease the burden on Nigerians.

While calling for stronger industry policies to boost production, the renowned political economist asserted that Nigeria is not doing enough to stimulate local manufacturing and economic output. Prof. Utomi also stressed that a focus on production is key to sustainable growth and improved living standards.
