Nigerian actor Emeka Ike has officially declared his intention to run for a seat in the House of Representatives, vying for the Abuja Municipal Bwari federal constituency under the platform of the Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC).
According to the movie star, his decision to seek legislative office stems from a desire to push for a proper systematic structure capable of accelerating national development, saying he wants to make a statement and step into the real thing.
In a video circulating online, Ike was seen receiving his nomination form from a party official, and a member of his campaign team disclosed that the actor has already won the NDC primaries and is now awaiting the 2027 polls. He said he wants to “block the boys who think they have the power”, adding that if the people stand, they will run.

This marks Ike’s return to the Nigerian political scene after he ran for the federal house of representatives representing Ideato South Local Government Area of Imo under the Young Progressive Party in 2018.
