The Nigerian Railway Corporation has suspended train operations along the Warri-Itakpe route following a major technical fault earlier this week.
According to the NRC’s spokesperson, Henrietta Eregare, the disruption, recorded on 9 April, was traced to multiple engine-related failures. She said services would be halted for 72 hours to allow engineers to conduct a comprehensive audit and carry out necessary repairs.

The corporation assured the public that the temporary suspension is aimed at restoring safe and dependable operations. Passengers affected by the disruption will be offered either a full refund or the option to revalidate their tickets for future travel.
The NRC apologised for the inconvenience and reaffirmed its commitment to improving service delivery across its national network.
