The Nigeria School Sports Federation, in partnership with the Nigeria Olympic Committee, has launched a nationwide training programme for Physical and Health Education teachers aimed at improving grassroots sports development.
The NSSF President, Olabisi Joseph, said teachers in Ogun and Plateau states had already been trained, while more than 100 teachers recently participated in the programme in Kano State.
According to the federation, participants are being trained in modern coaching methods, sports science, talent identification, and Olympic Values Education to help discover and develop young athletes in schools.

The programme is expected to continue later this month in Lagos and Bayelsa states as part of efforts to strengthen sports education and nurture future Nigerian athletes.
