The Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, has suspended referee Yakubu Adamu from all football-related activities over poor officiating in a Nigeria Premier Football League match involving Rangers and Bendel Insurance.
The NFF Refereeing Development Committee said Adamu wrongly awarded a penalty during the matchday 37 fixture, adding that the decision was not in line with the Laws of the Game.
According to the committee, the referee’s decision affected the outcome of the match and brought the game into disrepute. Rangers went on to win the encounter 2-1 and remain top of the NPFL table.
