Police have blocked access to the headquarters of the Arewa Consultative Forum in Kaduna, preventing a planned National Executive Council meeting as a leadership crisis within the group intensifies.
The secretariat along Sokoto Road was cordoned off on Tuesday evening, with security operatives stationed at the entrance. NEC members, led by Mamman Mike Osuman, had scheduled an emergency meeting at the venue, but were denied entry amid the standoff.
Osuman accused Board of Trustees chairman Bashir Dalhatu of exceeding his authority and obstructing the meeting, while Dalhatu urged members to boycott what he described as an illegitimate gathering, insisting the tenure of Secretary-General Murtala Aliyu had expired.

The Nigeria Police Force said its deployment was to prevent a breakdown of law and order following intelligence of rival meetings. The dispute centres on leadership powers and allegations over the management of about three point nine billion naira raised through an endowment fund, now under review by the forum’s ethics committee.
