President Tinubu Creates New Homeland Security Role

President Tinubu Creates New Homeland Security Role

President Bola Tinubu has created the position of Special Adviser on Homeland Security, appointing retired Major General Adeyinka Famadewa as the first official to occupy the newly established role. 

The appointment was announced on Monday in a statement issued by the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, marking the first time such a role has been created at the federal level in Nigeria. 

The government explained that the creation of this new office is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen the nation’s security architecture and improve coordination among various security agencies.

President Tinubu expressed confidence that the appointment will deepen the coordination of homeland security initiatives, intelligence integration, and proactive risk management as part of his administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
