Russia’s national team goalkeeper, Stanislav Agkatsev, has described Nigeria’s Super Eagles as one of the toughest opponents they will face since their international suspension.
The two sides are set to meet in a high-profile friendly at Moscow’s Luzhniki Stadium on 6 June, with kickoff scheduled for 18:00 Nigerian time.
Despite the absence of Victor Osimhen, Alex Iwobi, and Ademola Lookman, Nigeria’s coach Eric Chele has named a strong squad buoyed by their recent Unity Cup triumph over Jamaica.

Agkatsev, speaking ahead of the clash, acknowledged Nigeria’s quality and welcomed the challenge, calling it a vital test for the Russian side.
Since their exclusion from global tournaments, Russia have been unbeaten in eight games, scoring freely and keeping clean sheets against lesser opposition such as Cuba, Vietnam, and Serbia.
The Super Eagles, three-time African champions, are expected to offer the first genuine test of Russia’s current form and depth.
