Suspected arsonists have burnt down the Social Democratic Party (SDP) campaign office in Lokoja, the Kogi State capital.
Eyewitness reports say thugs invaded the party office located around Paparanda Square on IBB driveway around midnight; they chased away security men on duty, then proceeded to set the premises ablaze.
Items lost to the fire include documents, other valuables and vehicles that were parked inside the compound.

The SDP Kogi Governorship candidate, Muritala Yakubu Ajaka, is reported to have stopped over in Lokoja on his way to Abuja on Sunday to inspect the damage.
The office was previously vandalised on 9th July, 2023.
Honourable Sam Ranti-Abenemi, the SDP deputy governorship candidate, alleges that the perpetrators were sponsored by political opponents.
