Senator Ndume Accuses Tinubu's Government of Being Run by Kleptocrats and Kakistocrats

Senator Ali Ndume has criticised President Bola Tinubu’s administration of being filled with “kakistocrats and kleptocrats,” people he believes are unqualified and self-serving.

Speaking in an interview monitored by RadioNow’s news desk, Ndume faulted the president for surrounding himself with loyalists instead of competent individuals. He referenced how former Kaduna governor Nasir El-Rufai was treated during his ministerial screening as an example of poor judgment.

The senator from Borno said Tinubu must understand that leadership requires people who can speak truth to power. He warned that without such voices, the administration risks losing direction.

Ndume also responded to recent comments by presidential aide Bayo Onanuga, who labelled him a “frustrated lone wolf.”

The senator dismissed the remark, saying he has been elected four times and is not dependent on anyone for political survival.

He insisted that if Tinubu were in his shoes, he would have protested many of the government’s current actions.

Despite efforts by some in the presidency to win him over, Ndume says he remains firm and independent, reminding the public that in a democracy, the president must lobby lawmakers, not command them.
