Social Media Influencer Blessing CEO Arraigned Over Fresh N69.15 Million Fraud Allegation, Granted Bail in Separate Case

The Lagos zonal directorate of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arraigned social media influencer Blessing Nkiruka Okoro, popularly known as Blessing CEO, over a fresh N69.15 million fraud allegation. She was arraigned before Justice R.A. Oshodi of the special offences court in Ikeja, Lagos, on Tuesday on a two-count charge bordering on obtaining money by false pretence and stealing.

Count one states that Blessing CEO induced Hope Chiropractic Health Clinic Limited to confer a benefit of N69.15 million on her under the representation that a property located in Lekki belonged to her and was leased to the company for five years, a representation she knew to be false. Count two states that she dishonestly converted the same sum, being the property of the clinic, to her own use. The influencer pleaded not guilty to both charges.

Following her plea, the prosecution requested a trial date and asked the court to remand Blessing CEO in EFCC custody, noting that she is scheduled for arraignment for a separate alleged fraud case. The judge granted the request, remanding her in EFCC custody and adjourning the matter to July 16 for the hearing of her bail application and the commencement of trial.
