The Super Eagles have paid tribute to former goalkeeper Peter Rufai, following confirmation of his death.
In a statement posted on social media, the team described Rufai—fondly known as “Dodo Mayana”—as a towering presence in Nigerian football whose impact will long be remembered.
Rufai was part of the celebrated squad that won the 1994 Africa Cup of Nations and secured Nigeria’s first-ever FIFA World Cup qualification that same year.
