The United Nations has warned of a worsening humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza, as Israeli bombardments and blockades continue to endanger civilians and restrict access to vital aid.
Speaking in New York, UN spokesperson Mr. Stéphane Dujarric said Secretary-General António Guterres is appalled by repeated strikes on areas sheltering displaced people and those queuing for food, which have left many dead or injured.

He reported that Israeli evacuation orders this week alone forced nearly 30,000 Palestinians to flee, with no safe refuge or adequate supplies.
Mr. Dujarric reminded all parties that international law demands civilians be protected and their humanitarian needs fully respected.
