Nigeria’s Super Falcons have qualified for the quarter-finals of the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations after a commanding 6-2 victory over Egypt in their final Group C match in Morocco.
The ten-time African champions produced a dominant attacking display in a bid to continue their title defence after losing to Malawi and defeating Zambia.
Captain Asisat Oshoala opened the scoring from the penalty spot before Gift Monday, Uchenna Kanu, Christy Ucheibe, Rashidat Ajibade, and Joy Omewa added to Nigeria’s tally. Egypt scored twice but could not stop the Super Falcons from sealing qualification to the knockout stage.
The victory sets up a quarter-final clash with Cameroon as Nigeria continues its quest for a record-extending eleventh Women’s Africa Cup of Nations title.
