Governors and key figures of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Nigeria’s South-South region have thrown their weight behind President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid.
Meeting in Benin City on Saturday, the party leaders praised Tinubu’s leadership and endorsed his candidacy for a second term ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The gathering, described as unprecedented by the Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, included notable figures such as Senator Adams Oshiomhole, Minister Abubakar Momoh, Governor Bassey Otu, and former Bayelsa governor Timipre Sylva.

Speakers highlighted the administration’s student loan scheme, tax reliefs for low-income earners, and infrastructure progress as key achievements.
Governor Okpebholo pledged to deliver 2.5 million votes from Edo State, citing President Tinubu’s backing for road projects connecting eight communities in Uhunmwonde.
The gathering is the most recent in a series of political events endorsing a second term for the Bola Tinubu-led Presidency in 2027.
