The Association of Maritime Truck Owners (AMATO) has directed its members to strictly comply with port regulations ahead of a two-day cleanup and enforcement operation along the Lagos Port Corridor scheduled for May 14 and 15, 2026.
The association, in a statement signed by its Secretary General, Mohammed Sani Bala, warned truckers to avoid indiscriminate parking, remove all broken-down trucks obstructing port access roads, and adhere to the approved single-lane arrangement.
The Presidential Enabling Business Environment Council’s operation is designed to tackle persistent challenges, including traffic congestion, extortion of truckers by unauthorised personnel, indiscriminate dumping of refuse, and illegal checkpoints around the Apapa and Tin Can Port access roads.Â
