Vice President Kashim Shettima has assured that the Federal Government will provide support to victims of recent attacks in Shanga Local Government Area of Kebbi State. He gave the assurance on Tuesday during a condolence visit to Governor Nasir Idris in Birnin Kebbi.

The visit followed the death of the Speaker of the Kebbi State House of Assembly, Muhammad Usman-Zuru, as well as casualties from the Shanga attack and an ambush that killed several soldiers. The Vice President said President Bola Tinubu had directed that relief be provided through the National Emergency Management Agency.

Shettima said the Federal Government would work with relevant agencies to support displaced communities and assist affected families. He also urged security forces to intensify efforts to tackle terrorism and protect lives and property.
