The World Health Organisation says the number of suspected Ebola cases in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Uganda has risen to 600, with 139 suspected deaths recorded.
Speaking in Geneva after a meeting of the WHO Emergency Committee, Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said the outbreak remains a public health emergency of international concern, but not a pandemic emergency.
The WHO said 51 cases have been confirmed in northern Congo, while Uganda has reported cases linked to cross-border transmission, including deaths in Kampala.

Officials warned that the figures are expected to rise as investigations continue, with the organisation assessing the risk as high at national and regional levels, but low globally.
