Kaylee Hottle, the deaf actress known for playing Jia in “Godzilla vs. Kong” and its sequel, has died at age 18 following a car crash in Ijamsville, Maryland. Her parents announced her passing on social media sites.
The Frederick County Sheriff’s Office said a 1995 Honda Accord, driven by a 19-year-old man, veered off the road and struck a culvert around 2:52am Tuesday, with excessive speed believed to be a contributing factor.
Hottle, a passenger, was taken to a trauma centre and later pronounced dead; the driver sustained non-life-threatening injuries, and a second passenger declined treatment.
Hottle, from a multi-generational deaf family, was a senior at Texas School for the Deaf.
