The Plateau State Police Command has deployed over 8,000 officers to ensure security during the local government elections across all 17 local government areas in the state.

During a briefing on Tuesday at the command headquarters, DSP Alabo Alfred, the state police spokesperson, issued a stern warning to anyone planning to disrupt the election, stating that the police will not tolerate any form of electoral violence.

Meanwhile, the Plateau State Independent Electoral Commission (PLASIEC) has promised that the local government election will set a new standard for credible council polls in both the state and the country.

The election, scheduled for Wednesday, will see the participation of 11 political parties.
