The Ogun State Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security has set March 31 as the deadline for herders to register with the state’s Department of Veterinary Services.
Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Kehinde Jokotoye, announced the measure in a statement issued in Abeokuta.

The exercise, conducted in collaboration with the South West Commodity Farmers Organisation’s Ogun State Chapter, is aimed at improving security, reducing conflicts, and promoting better livestock management.
Officials say registered herders will also gain access to government support, including subsidies and incentives designed to enhance livestock production.
