Seven students of Gateway ICT Polytechnic, Saapade, in Remo North Local Government Area of Ogun State who were abducted on July 29 have regained their freedom.
Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, said on Thursday that no ransom was paid, adding that two suspected kidnappers have been arrested and the search for other gang members continues.
According to Abiodun, coordinated security efforts among relevant agencies, local hunters, vigilantes and other stakeholders led to the rescue of the victims, an event which he termed a significant milestone in the state’s ongoing fight against violent crime.
