Ogun Tightens Security Amid Fears of Criminal Infiltration, Orders Full Documentation of Foreigners

Ogun State has ordered the mandatory documentation of all foreign nationals as part of a wider security overhaul announced by Governor Dapo Abiodun after a high-level meeting in Iperu. The governor said no individual entering or residing in the state would be allowed to operate without proper identification, stressing the need for proactive measures in a state he described as Nigeria’s industrial gateway.

Governor Abiodun also announced stricter regulation of scavengers, intensified forest operations, crackdowns on illegal mining, and sanctions for landlords harbouring criminal elements. The ZAGA settlement in Ijebu-Ode is to be dismantled following concerns over unlawful activities.
