Adamawa Governor Grants Pardon to Farmer in Herder Killing Case

Adamawa State Governor Umaru Fintiri has granted a pardon to Sunday Jackson, a farmer who was sentenced to death for killing a herder. The case, which occurred in Adamawa, drew attention amid recurring farmer herder conflicts in the region.

Officials said the governor exercised his constitutional powers after reviewing appeals and recommendations from relevant authorities.

The decision was described as part of broader efforts to promote reconciliation and reduce communal tensions.
