The Oyo State Police Command has intercepted a truck carrying materials suspected to be explosive devices in the Sango area of Ibadan, the state capital.
The police spokesperson, Ayanlade Olayinka, said the truck was stopped during an intelligence-led stop and search operation, adding that the driver and 42 suspected explosive materials were taken into custody.
He said the Commissioner of Police in Oyo State, Femi Haruna, has ordered a comprehensive investigation, with specialised personnel from the Explosive Ordnance Disposal unit and the Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear unit deployed to secure the items.

Olayinka said forensic analysis is ongoing to determine the exact nature and intended use of the materials, assuring residents that there is no cause for panic as investigations continue.
