Governor Caleb Mutfwang says there will be no opposition to the All Progressives Congress in Plateau State ahead of the 2027 general election. He spoke in Jos on Tuesday after Rufus Bature emerged as chairman of the APC in the state through a consensus arrangement.
The governor expressed confidence that the party would remain dominant, saying he believes residents continue to support its leadership and programmes. He noted that the current mandate would be used to promote unity and development across Plateau State.
Mutfwang urged party members to embrace unity, tolerance and reconciliation, describing the APC as a family. He called for internal disputes to be resolved amicably and announced a one-month statewide membership drive.
In his acceptance speech, Rufus Bature thanked party leaders and pledged to meet expectations. He highlighted past electoral successes, including the election of senators, members of the National and State Assemblies, local government chairmen and councillors.
