APC Clarifies Zoning, Over 8,000 Delegates Arrive for Convention

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has clarified its zoning arrangements for the election of National Working Committee (NWC) members, stating that aspirants must only contest positions allocated to their geopolitical zones. The Chairman of the Convention Central Working Committee and former Katsina State Governor, Bello Masari, provided the clarification in Abuja on Thursday while reacting to complaints from some aspirants.

Masari stated that the party is adhering to the federal character principle and will not allow individuals to purchase forms for offices not zoned to their region. He stated that the party suspects individuals attempting to buy forms for offices outside their zone are seeking to create confusion.

The former governor also responded to threats of legal action, stating that the party has not been served with any court papers and will respond appropriately if served.
