Seven students of the Ebonyi State College of Health Science and Technology in Ngbo, Ohaukwu Local Government Area, have been injured after suspected armed robbers attacked a student hostel in the early hours of Tuesday.
Sources say the gunmen broke into the hostel at about 1 a.m. and stole valuables from students. The injured victims are receiving treatment at an undisclosed hospital.
The spokesperson of the Ebonyi State Police Command, SP Joshua Ukandu, said officers were deployed immediately after the incident was reported. He said the suspects had fled into nearby bushes before security operatives arrived.

Police say efforts are ongoing to track down the attackers and recover stolen items, while school authorities are yet to issue an official statement on the incident.
