At least 47 people have been killed and 97 others injured in Israeli air strikes across southern Lebanon, according to Lebanon’s Ministry of Public Health.
The Israeli military said on Friday that it had carried out overnight strikes on more than 150 Hezbollah targets and killed dozens of the group’s fighters, while Hezbollah reported intense fighting in the area.
Israel also said four of its soldiers, including a battalion commander, were killed during the clashes. The violence comes despite ongoing diplomatic efforts linked to a United States-Iran agreement aimed at ending hostilities in the region.
Lebanese state media reported additional Israeli drone strikes near Kfar Tebnit and Zabadin, while Hezbollah said it had repelled an Israeli ground offensive in southern Lebanon using drones, rockets and artillery.
