Troops of Sector 2 of the Joint Task Force North-West, Operation FANSAN YAMMA, have killed two terrorists and rescued abducted victims during coordinated operations in Sokoto and Katsina States.
According to military authorities, the first encounter occurred on 21 June when troops responded to intelligence about a planned attack on Tureta town in Sokoto State, forcing the assailants to flee after an exchange of fire.
The fleeing suspects were later tracked to Sulubawa Gidan Kare village, where troops engaged them again, rescued abducted civilians and recovered rustled livestock and motorcycles.
In a separate operation on 22 June in Matazu Local Government Area of Katsina State, troops stormed a suspected hideout, killing two terrorists, recovering weapons, motorcycles, communication equipment and livestock, while others escaped with injuries.
