Members of the Take It Back Movement on Monday staged a protest at the Iwo Road interchange in Ibadan, Oyo State, demanding the release of schoolchildren and teachers abducted in Orire Local Government Area in May.
The protesters, led by the group’s National Coordinator, Juwon Sanyaolu, blocked sections of the busy transport corridor from about 10 a.m., causing significant traffic disruption and forcing motorists and commuters to seek alternative routes.
Sanyaolu said the demonstration was part of ongoing efforts to secure the release of the victims, including 46 pupils and their teachers, and called for greater action to address insecurity across Nigeria.
He also criticised political leaders for focusing on preparations for the 2027 elections while kidnapping and other security threats persist, warning that further protests could follow if authorities fail to act.
