The Nigerian Air Force says it has strengthened its air presence in Sokoto State, as part of a wider campaign against terrorism and banditry in the North-West.
In a statement on Sunday, Air Force spokesman Ehimen Ejodame said the move will boost aerial surveillance and give the service a faster response to threats. He said air power will support ground troops working in the region’s Joint Operations Area.
Chief of Air Staff Sunday Aneke said the goal is to deny armed groups freedom of movement and help ground forces hold territory they retake.
The Force urged residents to keep sharing credible information with security agencies.
