ADA to appeal court order directing INEC to register NDC

ADA to appeal court order directing INEC to register NDC

A founding leader of the All Democratic Alliance, Umar Ardo, says the group will appeal a Federal High Court ruling directing the Independent National Electoral Commission to register the Nigeria Democratic Congress as a political party.

The court sitting in Lokoja had ordered INEC to register the NDC, despite the party not being among the associations pre-qualified by the commission in October 2025. INEC has since confirmed it is complying with the judgment.

Speaking in separate interviews, Mr Ardo alleged that the commission deviated from its guidelines, insisting that the NDC did not take part in the required registration process or submit necessary documentation.

He also claimed the court ruling was influenced and said the ADA would challenge the decision on legal grounds, arguing that groups which followed due process should not be treated the same as those that did not.
