The Lead Pastor of Streams of Joy International, Jerry Eze, has responded to comments by the Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Ola Olukoyede, regarding a money laundering investigation that cleared him of wrongdoing. He spoke on Wednesday in Abuja at the Jerry Eze Foundation Business Grant Award Ceremony.
Eze said the six-month probe was emotionally challenging, as he struggled to understand why he was under investigation. He stated that he had not committed any offence and expressed relief that the process eventually confirmed his innocence.
Olukoyede had earlier disclosed that the EFCC launched the investigation following intelligence reports of large inflows of foreign currencies into a domiciliary account linked to the cleric. He said funds were traced from multiple countries, prompting a detailed review of financial records.

According to the EFCC chairman, the investigation found no evidence of wrongdoing after Eze provided explanations linking the transactions to religious and charitable activities. He said the commission advised the cleric to maintain transparency and would continue routine monitoring in line with its mandate.
