Work on the Federal Government’s shoreline protection scheme at Marina, Lagos, has reached 30% completion, with authorities projecting a 25-year safeguard for key infrastructure.
Designed to shield the Outer Marina Road and the Lagos Blue Line Rail corridor, the project forms part of a wider initiative to fortify coastal assets against erosion and rising sea levels.

Officials from the Federal Ministry of Works and the House of Representatives Committee on Works visited the site on Monday. The delegation, led by Controller of Works Olukorede Kesha and Committee Chairman Akin Alabi, assessed progress and expressed satisfaction with both quality and pace.
The intervention is seen as critical in averting environmental degradation in one of Lagos’ most strategic urban corridors.
