The Federal Government says implementation of four newly signed fiscal reform laws will begin on 1st January 2026.
Speaking after the bills were signed by President Bola Tinubu, the Chairman of the Nigeria Revenue Service, Zach Adedeji, said the transition period allows time to fine-tune processes and ensure public awareness.
He also confirmed that the Federal Inland Revenue Service has now been renamed the Nigeria Revenue Service, with an expanded mandate to collect both tax and non-tax revenues under stricter transparency and efficiency standards.
