The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has confirmed the deaths of 21 people following a head-on collision along the Zaria-Kano expressway on Sunday morning.
The crash occurred at Kasuwar Dogo in Dakatsale around 8:20 a.m., involving a commercial Toyota Hiace bus and a DAF truck. Preliminary findings by FRSC investigators indicate that the bus was travelling against traffic when it collided with the oncoming truck.

Of the 24 persons involved, 19 men and two women died on the spot, while three others sustained varying degrees of injury. The bodies have been deposited at Nasarawa Hospital in Kano.
FRSC personnel, supported by other emergency agencies, cleared the wreckage and restored traffic. Corps Marshal Shehu Mohammed extended condolences to the bereaved and reaffirmed the agency’s commitment to road safety enforcement and public education.
