Lagos Announces Traffic Diversion for ECOWAS Jubilee Celebrations

The Lagos State Government has announced road diversions ahead of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) golden jubilee celebrations, scheduled for 27 to 29 May.

According to Bolanle Ogunlola, Deputy Director of Public Affairs at the Ministry of Transportation, the measures aim to ensure smooth traffic flow and bolster security near Eko Hotels and NIIA House, Victoria Island, where President Bola Tinubu is expected to deliver a keynote address on regional economic achievements.

Motorists heading to Lagos Island or the mainland from Eko Hotel Roundabout are advised to use Adetokunbo Ademola Road to Civic Centre, then connect to Ozumba Mbadiwe and proceed to Bonny Camp Roundabout. Alternatives include routes via Sanusi Fafunwa, Akin Adesola, and Ahmadu Bello Way.

Traffic officers from the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) will be stationed across the affected routes to assist road users and minimise disruptions throughout the three-day event.
